It’s not every day you get married so how are you supposed to know the what, where’s and how’s of ordering your wedding attire? Here are a few pointers which may help you in your planning.  If we have missed anything, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll help wherever possible x

DO I REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT TO TRY ON DRESSES?

Preferably “YES” especially on a Saturday.  However, you are always welcome to call into the shop and browse our range.  Should you pick a quiet time and we are available then we would be more than happy to let you have a fitting there and then

HOW LONG BEFORE MY DRESS ARRIVES AFTER ORDERING?

This depends on individual designers but with our range the average time is 16 to 20 weeks.  However, some of our designers can offer a lead time of 10 to 12 weeks, at no extra cost, although this has to be requested.  Most designers offer a “rush cut” service which is an additional charge.  The lead time has to be requested at the time of ordering

ARE ALTERATIONS CHARGED SEPARATELY?

Yes they are.  We have a fantastic self-employed seamstress who will meet you at the shop and alter your dress as required.  This usually takes around 4 fittings but this is all dependant on individual requirements.

You will always be given an estimate on the costs of the alterations and we will ensure that these are not exceeded unless agreed by you.

WHAT IF I GAIN WEIGHT AFTER MY DRESS HAS BEEN ORDERED?

Measurements will be taken prior to ordering the dress, and the onus is then on the bride to maintain her size.  However, we will always try our best to help should things change.  We will be in touch with you from the moment your dress arrives so you can try the gown to clarify fit and it can be tried as many times as is required before fittings start.  This will enable you to, hopefully, adjust your weight if required and has worked brilliantly for us in the past. Otherwise we will discuss what can be done during visits.

DO YOU CARRY A RANGE OF ACCESSORIES?

We carry a fantastic range of headdresses and veils by Richard Designs, Linzi Jay and White Ivy.  However, if there is a particular idea you wish to encapsulate, we will try our best to find a supplier.
